An icon of the aviation industry, Howard Hughes was a business tycoon, investor, aerospace engineer, filmmaker, and philanthropist. Hughes purchased the property on July, 22, 1967 for $14.6 million. Conde Nast boasts nearly 77,000 readers, making their Readers’ Choice Awards among the most prestigious of all travel publications.
Las Vegas Sands was recently mentioned in a Chronicle of Philanthropy article highlighting post-recession charitable giving throughout Las Vegas. The article notes our donations to UNLV and Clean the World, both announced with the launch of our corporate citizenship program Sands Cares, and also mentions our recent disaster relief hygiene kit build where we hosted over 2,500 local volunteers.
Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson was a special guest at UNLV’s Conversation Series back in May of 2014. The discussion provided UNLV’s Hotel College students an opportunity to find out more about Mr. Adelson’s path to success and what it takes to operate integrated resorts around the world.
