Happy Memorial Day from all of us at Las Vegas Sands!
Las Vegas Sands has a long history of providing unparalleled entertainment options to the masses. Perhaps the most famous part of that history was the Rat Pack, who performed regularly at the iconic Sands Hotel throughout the 1960s. LVS is excited to continue down the path that Peter Lawford, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra paved with the formation of Sands Entertainment. Our Team Members at The Venetian Las Vegas, The Palazzo Las Vegas and Sands Expo understand the importance of sustainability. That’s why, throughout March and April, they were busy participating in events supporting Earth Hour, Earth Day and Arbor Day. Through our Sands Cares program, nearly 1,000 Team Members of The Venetian, The Palazzo, and Sands Expo went out to the ballpark to root for the Las Vegas 51s at their season opener on Friday, April 17th to benefit HELP of Southern Nevada. 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales went directly to the charity, inclusive of a company match to make a total donation of $10,000!
Las Vegas Sands would like to congratulate our corporate partner, Clean the World, who recently announced their consolidation with Global Soap to expand their operations and charitable efforts around the world. Clean the World and Global Soap have contributed to a 30 percent reduction in pre-adolescent deaths from hygiene-related illnesses since 2009.
Las Vegas Sands properties from around the world participated in Earth Hour by turning off their lights from 8:30-9:30pm (local time) on Saturday, March 28th. Earth Hour, a movement organized by the WWF, aims to raise awareness on the importance of energy conservation and to symbolize participants’ commitment to the planet.
